Plucky Brits fight through the Credit Crunch [source: Google]

The clunkily-named Google Insights for Search may well be the most entertaining tool on the internet if you’re interested in how people are behaving online. Basically designed to give you some idea of the relative search volumes of any phrases you care to think of.

Despite all the doom and gloom, it appears that in the UK at least, we’re still more concerned about Britney than by the credit crunch. That’s either a glowing testament to the blitz spirit or a damning indictment of a celebrity-obsessed culture.

    Not that I’m wasting my time before Christmas or anything, but check out the fate of some eighties icons. Sweet.

    (I think the peak in late 2004 for The Krankies has something to do with Wee Jimmy Krankie falling off a beanstalk in rehearsals for panto, fact fans!)
