New Google AdWords Interface: Slightly Screwy

There’s a big load of new information in the AdWords interface – including the slightly confusing “1/many clicks/conversion” feature. Some might say too much, as evidenced below:

fuckup

This is on a 1280 width monitor, so it’s not like I’m short on screen space…

On my laptop I get a sideways scroll bar which is pretty annoying – I have to put it on my huge monitor for it to display properly. I also don’t like how the middle section of the page scrolls down whilst the headers stay still – you can accidentally scroll it then wonder why half the data is missing.

As for 1-per-click etc – I didn’t even notice that and I have no idea what it means. Seriously.

Yep – even if you close the left hand menu you still have to scroll sideways… they’re definitely stacking too much into these tables. I think a massive priority for them should be to make the columns customisable so you can get rid of some of them.

I’ve read the official definitions of the 1-per-click stuff several times, and I’m still none the wiser!

BTW Piper, how does it feel being my only reader?

Don’t worry dude, the readers will come. One day you’ll join the future ;)

I’m with you on this new Adwords display issue, but where is the rest of the world?

I like the new display in many ways, but find myself wishing I had Excel-type ability to split the display so that column and row headings stay visible.

But it’s that total screen width that drives me nuts worst! Especially when many columns are at least twice as wide as they need to be to show their content data.

I don’t see why you can’t just choose what columns to display anyway. The graphs have a nice little radio button so you can choose what to look at, yet we’re stuck with a 100,000,000 pixel width display to accomodate whole rafts of information you’re not necessarily interested in…
