If I were Google…
- I’d ignore the nofollow attribute on links from obviously well-policed, crowd-driven sites (Wikipedia, Nowpublic.com etc)
- I’d automatically flag textual sitewide footer/banner/sidebar external links and discount them
- I’d discount all outbound links from any site with more than half a dozen sitewide text links but not necessarily penalise the site itself
- I’d make the Wonderwheel look really pretty
- I’d stop releasing second-rate Betas into other people’s markets (I’m looking at you, Orkut)
- I’d go live in a really big house somewhere and hire the Swedish gymnastics team to rub me down with hot chocolate every hour
