I have to agree with you about Tumblr being more better then Twitter. The few things that I dislike about Twitter has to be a limit on characters in tweets and private messages, this can get very annoying. I love how much you can customize with Tumblr also which is great for changing the design and layout to look similar to your website. With a Tumblr account, there is no need to even use Facebook or Twitter again as you are able to update your status via Tumblr so there is no need to have the web pages open.

I've always maintained that Twitter is crap and I see no reason to change that opinion. I don't actual think it's the site itself that people are in such a frenzy about, it's the real time consumer opinions that companies find so valuable. Twitter just seems to have been in the right place at the right time and with a name that even simpletons can remember. If only the world would realise that there are better alternatives out there that do the same thing, we wouldn't have to put up with this continual Twitter wankarama!

I've got a tumblr, it's just another site for me to spam my blog posts :)

I don't see the difference between tumblr and wordpress.com though... or blogger even.

For once I actually agree with you Carps. I set up a Tumblr today, not because I'm actually going to use it, but because it looks interesting and I'm supposed to know about these kinds of things.

it *is* a very nice, well put together blog site where you can easily post media without fannying around. I wish they'd make this more clear really. It's like Wordpress without FTP, or Blogger with more features.

However, the themes are pretty much all wank. I'm sure you can download new ones or -gasp- make your own, but the stock choice is pretty woeful IMHO.

Twitter really is terrible, though. Luckily with Tumblr you can update that and have it tweet, I think, and also post to facebook. So I can cover a lot of bases with my incessant stream of pretentious bad fiction and really shit puns a lot more easily.

Will it take off? Who knows. It might already be Betamax to Twitter's VHS.
