Hi Tash – yeah, the driving thing’s both a blessing and a curse: cursed to be ferried around by other people, but blessed for the same reason. There’s something to be said for getting into walking for some things (I’d love to walk the kids to school, but first I need to get sacked)

Non-drinking too… blimey that *is* a cross to bear! Good on you though and all the best for your own recovery – do stop by again

Just seen this blog and am really glad to hear that you are fighting fit. I sent a msg a while back as I had the same op as you in October last year.
I have to say I am struggling a bit with being a non- driver, I had a little mini convertible called Freddie which I had to sell …only another 7 months to go, but I do get to walk my little boy to school every day which is good fun and how lucky you are to be drinking! I’m not allowed to touch the wobbly juice for a year cos of anti- seizure medication… a non drinker and non driver makes an interesting combination for those around me although I can always be relied upon to give a step by step account of the previous nights events
Anyway…thumbs up for getting through it and here’s to making the most of every day

What a massive failure. In typical fashion, my genius financial advisor told us we might as well cancel it because we were “young and healthy” when we moved house 5 or 6 years since and we “might as well have £15 in our pockets rather than the bank’s.”

We might have snuck in a rehearsal for a change! We’d love to play there every week, but sadly it’s always booked about 6 months in advance. Never mind, when we’re there next time it’ll be warm enough for me to wear a mankini, which will make everybody a winner.

P.S. There was a bucket somewhere – we ended up with £90 in it, which is a post-war record for us!
