		<description>I completely agree with &#039;don&#039;t make first contact with the candidate via phone during work hours&#039; - especially when it&#039;s an unsolicited call (i.e. the person hasn&#039;t even put a CV up anywhere)...

Also saying &quot;someone gave me your name&quot; does not make the candidate believe someone gave you their name.

A third point - most people prefer to make friends with people they&#039;ve...you know, met or worked with on LinkedIn. Not recruiters making unsolicited requests.

Oh and know your market. Asking the candidate &quot;so what is it you do?&quot; right after saying &quot;I&#039;ve got a fantastic role for you&quot; does not inspire confidence.
