Hi LM – you’re not intruding at all… welcome to the debate

The BNP over here is essentially a racist party which hides its purpose behind socialist rhetoric. As a Pakistani Muslim, you would be first in line for deportation (at best) if they ever came to power in the UK. They believe that only “indigenous” people – white people – should have any rights in our country. It’s also worth noting that the Nazi party in Germany had free museums and arts, free organised entertainment, subsidised manufacturing and so on.

Over here, our attitude (or experience of) socialism is also markedly different to that on the continent. To many of us, me included, it is based on the suppression of individual liberties in favour of state control. We have seen many restrictions placed on our freedoms by our largely socialist government over the last decade or so – from ranging as far up the scale as house arrest without charge for suspected ‘terrorists’.

I personally think that the only difference between Nazism and Socialism is where you stop seeing capitalists and start seeing jews. I admit I’m pretty far out of the mainstream believing this, even here

I hope I am not intruding here. I don’t know much about UK.
Racism should indeed be condemned but the objectives of BNP that you listed don’t sound racist or nazi at all (and infact sound very very good to me). They are socialist at its best IMHO. Being a Pakistani Muslim living in Scandinavia, I have seen these all things pretty well for the state and the people , and I have also noticed some bit of racism here and there, but I don’t see how could you term any of those socialist goals that you mentioned on your site as ‘nazi’. Racism in the Sweden, Denmark, Norway is pretty huge issue but I don’t how is it related to ‘free parking’ or ‘public libraries opened 7 days a week’.
(Btw, even Denmark, Sweden don’t really have socialism according to a socialist friend of mine. He terms these countries as ‘capitalist socialists’ where the soul of the system is still capitalist.)
